Mathpix | Perfect Latex Aid
1 Introduction
This post will introduce an every-day productivity app for me: Mathpix.
1.1 What is Mathpix?
Mathpix is a top choice for converting various note formats (images, PDFs, Markdown) into machine-readable text (LaTeX, Word).
1.2 What are the features?
The features I like to use are
- Screen-to-OCR:
- Screenshot equation/text (with inline math) to Latex
- Screenshot equation/text (with inline math) to Notion
- Screenshot data to excel table
- Conversion:
- Convert markdown to latex
- Convert pdf to latex

2.1 Shortcut for OCR
I think the first thing to do is to know or set the shortcut for the screenshooting for OCR.

Then set your preferred shortcut for getting latex and opening the app
2.2 Equations or Text (with Inline Math) to LaTeX
- It works perfectly for equations in PDF
It also works for handwritten equations

This conversion can help when you want to convert the Notion notes to latex. By exporting the notion page to markdown first and then use mathpix to convert markdown to latex.
There are still some issues for this conversion, like missing equation in each step of conversion. If you have a long Notion page to convert, my suggestion would be split and adjust the content for conversion, then merge then in latex.
